Farm Country Kitchen in Riverhead offers a full-service American dining experience that blends rustic charm with waterfront views, making it a fitting spot for relaxed yet polished meals. Tucked away just off Main Street, this restaurant feels both accessible and somewhat tucked-in, giving it a quiet, intimate vibe especially appreciated off the busy summer months.

The atmosphere varies depending on where you sit — indoor seating carries a cozy, almost countryside feel with warm lighting and thoughtful holiday decor in the winter, while outdoor tables, especially those on the grassy bank by the water, provide a laid-back backdrop ideal for sunny afternoons or summer evenings. Despite being a bit of a maze, the restaurant’s layout encourages exploration and pairs well with its riverfront setting.

Farm Country Kitchen’s menu is notably diverse, anchored in American classics but with elevated twists. Meats take a strong focus here, with well-regarded options such as filet mignon, hanger steak, New Zealand lamb chops, and grilled strip steak that locals seem to appreciate for their precise cooking and impactful sauces like Au Poivre. Seafood is another highlight, with dishes like island cioppino and sea bass offering fresh, coastal flavors that match the location.

Brunch visitors enjoy sitting outside by the water, where attentiveness from servers complements strong, well-crafted cocktails. The restaurant’s pace and service style suit those looking for a meal that balances casual enjoyment with thoughtful preparation—whether it’s a midday gathering or dinner intended to linger.

Parking can be a bit of a hurdle with limited on-site spots and more available across the street or on nearby Sweezy Street, a detail worth noting before arrival. Reservations are straightforward and recommended, especially in the busier seasons or evenings.

For those who appreciate a quietly scenic setting paired with hearty American fare and a menu that ranges from comfort to refined, Farm Country Kitchen offers a grounded taste of Riverhead’s culinary scene. It’s a place to come for thoughtfully cooked meats or seafood, a glass of wine or local beer, and a chance to unwind with views that change with the light and the seasons.

Quaint place nestled in Riverhead. I loved how easy it was to book a reservation, and to get there. I recommend going in the winter time and experiencing their festive decor. The food was phenomenal my date and I both got steaks (filet minion and the Angus strip) they were cooked perfectly and covered in Au Poivre sauce which was absolutely delicious. Our server was kind and highly attentive to our table, we were also helped by other warm welcoming staff members too. Overall amazing time here and we are definitely going back again soon!

Absolutely wonderful place to dine at. If driving by you will most likely miss it but it amazing on the river. Food and dessert was amazing and service was fantastic. It is a maze of wonder as you walk through with beautiful views and many different areas to eat to enjoy the different views.

We drove our to Long Island to visit our friends and the drove us to the Farm Country Kitchen for lunch. Parking is a problem but we got lucky as a car just pulled out as we were arriving. We were greased by a friendly lady and taken to a table under the cover. Table was ok but we did not get a view. Restaurant was full. They also have outside seating down on the grass by the water. We ordered a mix of hamburger, tacos, salad with meat and a turkey wrap. All four reported very tasty dishes. The overall experience was very nice. Will definitely go again if we are in the area.

Great HIDDEN GEM. Went to celebrate Pinktober with a couple of friends. Food, staff, atmosphere and views were great. Beautiful outside seating but we ate inside. If you are going at night a little hard to see, parking is a little east across the street, and additional parking on Sweezy street.

We went for brunch and sat outside by the water on a Saturday afternoon. Our server, Matt was so friendly and helped us order. The drinks were strong and all the food was delicious and tasted fresh. Will definitely come back for dinner!

I’ve been a chef for 37 years and when I eat out I want the food to be fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care and they deliver. Yes, the view is nice, and the farmhouse is charming, but none of that matters if the food doesn’t meet expectations. I almost didn’t come here because of some reviews, but I honestly don’t think they are fair. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced fresh and delicious meal, then make this your next place to eat. You won’t be sorry. Pictured here is the Stella, a breaded chicken cutlet topped with provolone and prosciutto and just enough sauce, served on a rosemary roll. Served with a side salad and house made dressing. My husband had the steak sandwich served on French bread, also served with the salad.

Great service with great food and in great company. The review on the Serrano: if it had a little more steak on it it would have been perfect. Review on the Roberto: if there was some bread for dipping it would have been even better but I’d still order it twenty more times as is! Review on the Maria: I was not expecting a marinara pasta salad when I read “pasta salad” but it was tasty. The sandwich itself was really good. It was a tad dry maybe a little more sauce but it was still delicious. We have a wonderfully sweet server and had a beautiful view of the water. We hope we have the opportunity to return during warmer months to really appreciate the view. Thank you for offering such delightful options, Farm Country Kitchen.
